College admission offices are flooded with record numbers of applicants. More high school graduates are applying to college than ever before, and individuals are applying to more campuses than a decade ago. The college selection process has become time-consuming and complicated, and many families are looking for help. Hirko Consulting helps applicants produce a strategy for their application packages which strongly defines them for admission boards, as well as expands their awareness of colleges best suited for them.

Why College Consulting?

Because of small numbers and personal attention, an independent consultant is able to form a personal relationship with a student, getting to know the student, the student's academic aptitude, and the student's interests in order to determine 'best match' colleges. Often in the race for Valedictorian, the most AP classes taken in a year, or class President, students overlook what sets them apart from their peers and makes them most attractive to colleges: an authentic person who will contribute more than just grades and test scores to a Freshman class.

I help students of all academic records examine their aspirations, what empowers them, what excites them, and what's important in their lives. Though most college admission offices focus on GPA and test scores as the first building block of the application, this self-examination provides the bulk of what they read beyond the numbers, and how they discover an applicant's sense of self.

With a student's best interest in mind, I can objectively put a student's strengths and weaknesses in perspective relieving some of the pressure placed on a high school student and his family during the college discovery process. I am able to provide the reassurance that an experienced professional is helping them every step of the way.
